Click Prior to go back to the previous step.
Use menu option Ledger | Reporting | All Journals to review Ledger entries.
This opens the Ledger Posting window. We will now look at creating Reporting Sets using this data and the benefits they can bring.
Right click a period value of 1 to open the context sensitive menu and select 'Quick Filter' and '>=Greater Than or Equal To'.
Right click a period value of 3 to open the context sensitive menu and select 'Quick Filter' and '<=Less Than or Equal To'.
Click the 'filter' icon in the ToolBar to review the filter built by the 2 Quick Filters.
Click 'Save As' to create a Report Set that can be used again.
Give the Report Set a name - here 'Qtr 1' and click OK.
The Report Set Qtr 1 is now available for selection and can be re-applied whenever you want to look at posting just to period 1, 2 and 3. Similar Report Sets can be created for Qtr 2, Qtr 3 and Qtr 4.
Select menu option Setup | Reporting Sets.
Position the cursor at the Qtr 1 Report Set just created for the table LDGLNSNDVIEW. Open the detail window by pressing F3 or by double clicking an attribute in the list window.
Copy all the Set Value into the Clipboard by high lighting the text and pressing Ctl+C.
Then click the 'Add new record' icon in the ToolBar.
In the new record use the dropdown list to set a 'Table name' of LDGLNSNDVIEW. Enter a 'Set name' of Qtr 2. Paste in the 'Set value' from the Clipboard with Ctl+V.
Now edit the 'Set value' to cover periods 4 to 6.
Repeat this process for Qtr 3 and Qtr 4 entering the appropriate period values.
Now whenever you or somebody else wishes to report/review quarterly figures it is easy to select the appropriate Reporting Set. Getting consistent filters applied to the data, however complex they are.
Reporting Sets can be created for every table or table view used in ClearSEAs.
They are also used on every print selection window allowing data to be filtered on whatever values you require.
