Click Next to advance through the Demo.
Click Prior to go back to the previous step.
A User Id. must be granted access to the menu option Utilities | Systems | Modify Report to be able to perform these tasks.
Rather than change an existing report, we recommend that you create a new report based upon an exisitng report and change that. Leaving the original report unchanged. So select the report and click 'Create'.
We also advise just extending the report name - so replace the XXX with a short tag. This is because some names distinguish the data extracted by the system - VAT reports for example.
Having changed the name, click OK to create the report.
The new report is ready for use/changing.
We now run the report to see its output.
Back on the print selection window, click 'Modify' to now change the report.
This opens the Report Designer window and ToolBars.
First lets expand the area containing the printed detail. Position the cursor on the black line at the top of the 'Group Header 1 acct' when it changes to a black Up/Down arrow, click the mouse, hold it down and drag downwards.
Then click in a printed attribute - here DESC.
Notice the outline changes to have small bars at the centre of each side.
Now holding the mouse down drag it dowards and to the left.
Next double click it to open its Properties window.
'Expression' gives the name of the attribute to display.
The expression always begins with 'rc.'. Attribute names can be found in the Data Dictionary (menu Utilities | Systems | Data Dictionary)
Under the 'Style' tab we can set the font values for the attribute.
We have now changed the font values for the attribute.
Click OK to close the Font Window and again on the Properties window.
Now back on the Report Designer window place the cursor over the right vertical side of the box and drag to the right to widen the box.
Release the mouse when wide enough.
Click the 'X' - close window button and click Yes on the dialog asking if you want the report saved.
We now re-run the report to see our changes.
All standard reports can be changed in this manner allowing you to customize reports to your own requirements, be it layout, spacing or attributes reported.
